The Anne Arundel County Chapter of The Bereaved Parents of the USA is a non-profit self-help organization.

We depend on donations from bereaved parents and the community we support and from concerned professionals in order to produce our newsletter, Memorial Service, library, outreach and informational materials, and other needed services.

We do not charge any membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome.

There are no paid staff. All of the work of our national and chapter is performed by volunteers. All contributions are devoted totally to the expenses of our programs and activities.

Volunteer

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” Coretta Scott King

Bereaved Parents is made up entirely of volunteers and there are many ways that members can help themselves and others heal through volunteering.

  • Bring drinks and refreshments to the in-person meetings

  • Work with the organization’s leadership to bring speakers to both the in-person and the online meetings

  • Submit newsletter articles

  • Help with the two major events of the year: The Memory Walk in October and the Service of Remembrance in December

  • Take a leadership role in the organization

  • Donate a toy for a child who will be hospitalized over the holidays; a toy your child would love as a way to honor them

If you’d like to volunteer, we warmly welcome you. Please contact us: AABereavedParents@gmail.com
